Meanwhile, back at the infinity machine
Obviously, it is reasonable for any rational person to question if such a thing as an " infinity " machine actually exists. You might like to have some idea of what an infinity machine might be, but just imagine a machine , like a crazy Dairy Queen machine, that spews out infinities, in an infinite number of directions. Of course, if can imagine it, it might have some meaning. But curiously enough, such a thing has been imagined, by a fairly reputable guy, name David Hilbert.
Anyway, it's just pretty colorful to imagine, particularly if you imagine all these infinities spewing out in all kinds of directions, with lots of different colors. What benefit to you personally to actually imagine that, well, I would have not idea. I think it likely does not hurt you. You can imagine some of the colors of the different infinities, perhaps as being warmer or cooler, or even hotter and perhaps more subdued.
So that is a lot to play with, but seems to have worked pretty well for Murray Gell-Mann.
