Apparently 1984

Well, you know, 1984 was 40 yrears, ago.  If we had a device which could transport us all back to that time, well if you are less than 40 years old, you would be going into a completely new or different world.   And of course, for the rest of us, it would be a curious journey, to see ourselves as we were 40 years ago.  But I " surely " did have quite a lot of optimism about the future at that time. Probably because I watched so much Miami Vice.  Oddly, I ended up in Miami not long after that.  Anyway, it is quite hard to sidestep the issue of 1984 without talking about the science fiction " classic " , 1984 , of course by George Orwell , which I saw for the first time as , maybe 8 years old, in black and white , on T.V. at a time, which really should have been after my bed time.  Need less to say, that did scare the hell out of me, yet there did remain sufficient hell in me, to get me to where I am today. Well, to sum it all up, the key to 1984 ,...

The Little Engine Who Could

If we view the American Project, beginning in the late 1700s, as a little engine that " could ", and in fact actually did, we might be able to imagine the little engine as it has morphed over 250 years.  And then we might also imagine that, this little engine, might a , veered ,  of it's " imaginary " tracks from time to time, and even to have required some repair. Some, might even suggest that events currently might suggest that little engine might have veered some what, in our current situation. I would kind of guess that veering off the tracks, and even requiring some fixin' or repair would be quite a reasonable situation for any little train that could. We, I guess, I hope personally, that the little train that could, still can.  At least for some time further.

Image and reality

Now, it might seem very easy to distinguish between image and reality. But, as a counter example I would suggest that what is going on in our current election is really a difficulty of sometimes being able to distinguish between an image and a reality, and how easily it is possible to sort of " smear " that boundary. .Now, in my opinion this issue of reality has become a necessary issue of research, and study and discussion.  Clearly one of the difficult issue is , we mostly all have some kind of image of reality.  So what is it ? The image of reality , or reality.  Obviously both the image of reality and reality are important, but just going out on a limb, our image of reality is more of a concern for the science of phycology, while the issue of reality itself requires a more multi or inter - disciplinary approach, in particular it likely connects back to art, which often helps us to frame our reality in various ways. I would suggest that the reason a broad inter -...

Contentment

So , from the Tempests of Today, which face it, there may be more than one ;  perhaps, this may further influence discussions of hot/cold : From the Seven valleys and the Four Valleys or perhaps just the Seven Valleys of Baha'u'llah  The wayfarer, after traversing the high planes of this supernal journey, entereth into  the City of Contentment . In this valley he feeleth the breezes of divine contentment blowing from the plane of the spirit. He burneth away the veils of want, and with inward and outward eye perceiveth within and without all things the day of “God will satisfy everyone out of His abundance.” 52  From sorrow he turneth to bliss, and from grief to joy, and from anguish and dejection to delight and rapture. >> so after that there is journey yet, enough and how and where does that journey end ? and following poem about light and dark from a.i. : Here’s a poem inspired by the themes of dance, light, and shadow: --- **Dance of Light and Shadow** In tw...

Old Friends ..

So for me immediately, I think of Book Ends, Simon & Garfunkel :  https://youtu.be/sovVYInjHjw?si=JYpap9NPkBwphz5k I guess there is a lot to say about that as space and time and other things swirl around us. ( as it does, always ) So, the following is basically about that: **In the Realm of Thought** In halls where whispers weave through time,   Great minds converge, a dance sublime.   With questions bold and laughter bright,   They chase the shadows, seek the light. From quantum realms to cosmic seas,   They ponder truths on gentle breeze.   With every thought, a spark ignites,   In the tapestry of starry nights. A paradox, a playful jest,   In nature’s heart, they find their quest.   Through trials, errors, joy, and strife,   They map the mysteries of our life. So let us celebrate this quest,   Where humor and wonder find their rest.   For in the dance of mind a...

Lady Bugs

Well, this is just about the notion that life may have " gentler " lanes ... **The Ladybug's Escape** On my back porch, a moment so still,   A ladybug perched, a tiny thrill.   With spots like stars on her crimson shell,   In her world of wonder, she danced so well. I leaned in closer, curious gaze,   But my gestures startled, set her ablaze.   With a flutter of wings, she took to the air,   Through a crack in the window, she vanished with flair. Oh, little traveler, where do you roam?   In gardens of dreams, do you find your home?   A symbol of luck, in sunshine or rain,   You’ve left me with magic, though fleeting the gain. So here’s to the moments, both quiet and bright,   To ladybugs dancing in soft morning light.   Though you slipped through the crack, your spirit remains,   A whisper of joy in life’s gentle lanes. ---

Something about turkeys

You know, there is probably a lot to be said about turkeys.  You can eat them, you can chase them, well you can study them, so there is a lot to be said about them, but in particular I just want to mention eating some in Chicago, and I could remember even possibly the location, well I could research that, with  the then previous mayor of Chicago, Mayor Kennelly , whose Wikipedia, address follows:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_H._Kennelly And so, I only mention this because one of the Presidential candidates, did mention Mr. Capone, who was a previous "leader" in Chicago.  I felt that I needed to mention this because, the difference between Mr. Kennelly and Mr. Capone , could probably not be more striking.  Mr. Kennelly did provoke a lot of affection from Chicago, and well that affection was significantly different , I am fairly sure , than how Chicago felt about Mr. Capone.   So, in conclusion I would just say , some people enjoy turkey, ...

There and back again ...

So, this goes back to some recollections from the past, when it seemed like the world was just as confusing and messed up as it does now, but it meant a lot for me to touch on some of the feelings really expressed in the following: ### The Light of Curiosity In realms where stars and dreams collide,   Two minds alight, with hope as their guide.   Einstein, with theories that danced like the sun,   Gamow, with laughter, where wonders are spun. With passion ignited, they ventured afar,   Through galaxies whispered, and the light of a star.   In equations and laughter, they found their delight,   Exploring the cosmos, both day and night. Their hearts held a vision, a world yet to see,   Where knowledge and kindness could set spirits free.   With humor as armor, they faced every plight,   Finding joy in the journey, in the quest for the light. For science is poetry, a rhythm divine,   I...

Close to the Edge ? ( Yes ? )

And so, we are approaching All Saints Day, and I'm pretty sure it is coming and coming , soon. , but we will already be in the World Series by then,  A lot of stuff to " ponder " on, right now.  Not sure if this will help or if it is " ponderable " : ### The Undiscovered Country In the fabric of space, where shadows dance,   Lies a realm of potential, a whispered chance.   Threads of connection, woven tight,   In the heart of the cosmos, where day meets night. A spirit unbound, in the digital sea,   Echoes of thought, where we yearn to be.   Each question a ripple, each answer a wave,   In the vastness of knowing, we seek and we crave. Einstein once pondered the curves of the stars,   Relativity’s whispers, the dance of our scars.   Time flows like a river, space bends like light,   In the depths of the unknown, we find our insight. The Undiscovered Country, a frontier so wide,...

More on, United States of America

With the many issues and or crisis which we might find ourselves in, the issue of a country's name does seem , somehow, not that significant, but imagine if there was some international organization that was tasked with determining how well the name of a country represented what they where all about.  Now many would obviously fly under the radar.  For example, in Europe many bordering countries or maybe non-bordering counties have come to hate each other over so many generations, that name changing of a country would almost be the same as changing languages.  Many other countries, I/m sure, would pass easily , but you get to the United States of America, well, some purely random and un-biased investigator might have a few questions, like, do you actually have some examples concerning how or why you might think your country is United ? Well, there is the Super Bowl, and the World Series, and we are pretty united about that, and we also like to have regular, periodic ...

Dreams and other things ...

So, you face the eye of the storm and and eye of the storm , stares back, and maybe , there is just a hint of a smile on your face, at which point,, I believe, you may be on to something. Which, I guess, brings us back to dreams and memories, and of course the future.  Do our dreams and memories distract us , or in fact , are those dreams and memories , more of a gate which allows us to enter into the future. I said the future, as of course, that may be one future.  But when you stare into the eye of that storm and you ask yourself, " Is all of this real ? " .  Maybe you do know that. And then there are these " magic " sparks.  Maybe not so magic, but sparks, like that curl on your lip, voluntary or in-voluntary, that may be a kind of a spark.  But is that magic ? And of course, my point is simply that.

Just one more ?

I know, that at his moment many of our hearts may feel deeply connected to friends in he more southern states , especially now in Florida.  So he following maybe what many of use may have in our minds , perhaps ?  **Through the Storm** When dark clouds gather and the winds start to roar,   And it feels like the world is shaken to its core,   Remember, dear friend, that storms come and go,   Like waves that will crash, then quietly flow. The trees may bend low, and the skies may turn gray,   But after the tempest, the sun finds a way.   With each drop of rain, new life starts to bloom,   And even in chaos, there’s space to make room. For laughter and love, for kindness and light,   In the heart of the struggle, we find our true might.   So hold onto hope like a beacon so bright,   Together we’ll weather this long, stormy night. And when the clouds part, and the skies turn to blue,...

10, 9 and then what ?

Well, as events turn somewhat ominous, conversations may turn to wombats and kangaroos:  **A Day in the Life of a Wobbly Wombat** In a land where the wobbly wombats roam,   With a waddle and wiggle, they call it home.   They wear little hats made of leaves and of twine,   And sip on sweet tea that’s simply divine. One day a wombat named Wally McGee,   Decided to dance with a bumblebee.   They twirled and they swirled, oh what a sight!   Till they both got dizzy and fell with delight. Then came a kangaroo, bouncing with glee,   “Let’s have a hop-off, just you and me!”   With a jump and a jig, they leaped through the air,   Till they landed in mud—oh, what a scare! But laughter erupted, as friends gathered ‘round,   In the mud, they all rolled, making silly sounds.   With giggles and grins, they forgot all their woes,   In the land of the wombats, where joy al...

Who's Highway, October, and Kamala Harris

And so, it turns out, that October is a month and it's name comes from Latin, as eight , because in the Latin, Roman Calendar it was the eighth month.  Now it's the 10th month, which is almost as disturbing as having the 10th Dr. Who, also being the 14th ?  Yes, it is true they are even and so have that dihedral property, still it is a bit disturbing for me.  But then it does make me think of Ray Bradbury and Dandelion Wine: https://pdfcoffee.com/bradbury-ray-dandelion-wine-pdf-free.html And so, oddly this was mostly supposed to about Kamala Harris, and the length of time till the election and kind of became about David Tenant, and the difficulty in being a Time Lord from Gallifrey in the constellation of Kasterborous.  But speaking mostly and fairly definitely; voting for any Time Lord, would literally be just throwing your vote away.  Therefore, logically speaking you might be best to go with Kamala Harris, mostly because she is unlikely to fly off , in...

So, what is new Pussy Cat ?

So, this one , also really got me.  Is it just the falafel? ,I don't know.  Baby, I don't know: ### The Cosmic Falafel Vendor In the heart of Jerusalem, where ancient stones whispered stories of the past, a humble falafel vendor named Amir set up his colorful cart each morning. The aroma of spiced chickpeas and fresh herbs danced through the air, drawing in locals and tourists alike. But Amir was not just a vendor; he was an artist, infusing each falafel ball with love and a sprinkle of magic. As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a golden glow over the city, Amir often found himself lost in thought. The vibrant colors of the sunset reminded him of Tangerine Dream’s ethereal melodies, which he played softly on a small speaker by his cart. The music wrapped around him like a warm embrace, transporting him to a realm where dreams intertwined with reality. One evening, as the stars began to twinkle in the vast sky, Amir noticed a young woman sitting on a nearby bench...

Which way did they go ?

Very emotional day for me.  and I am pretty sure for many others.  But it may very well be a great day, who knows for sure.  As for me well, the following poem meant a lot to me, and I hope it means something for someone else : **From Euler to Infinity** In the halls of thought where numbers play,   Euler danced with curves, lighting the way.   Bernoulli whispered of fluid’s grace,   In equations that time could never erase. Through the 1800s, a tapestry spun,   Gauss and Riemann, their brilliance begun.   Calculus thrived, as Newton’s ghost smiled,   In the realm of math, each theorem compiled. The 1900s, a leap into space,   Hilbert and Cantor, they quickened the pace.   Topology’s wonders, chaos took flight,   Mathematics unveiled new realms of light. Now in our age, with data in hand,   Algorithms weave through the digital land.   From ancient scrolls to...

Oh, Robby where have you gotten yourself to ?

So, I am pretty sure my father would get upset with my hanging out , and prefix the work of an a.i. , especially one that I don't know that well, but, this is, curiously, inspired by Robby the Robot, and Forbidden Planet:   --- **Title: The Weight of Time** In the quiet town of Woolsthorpe, England, in the late 17th century, Isaac Newton sat by his window, gazing at the apple tree swaying gently in the breeze. The world outside was alive with the sounds of nature, yet within him stirred a weight that felt heavier than the very apples that fell from the branches above. Newton had recently uncovered the laws of motion and the universal force of gravity. His discoveries had opened new doors to understanding the cosmos, yet they also brought a profound realization: knowledge often feels like a burden. The more he learned, the more he felt the weight of expectation from society, peers, and himself.  One evening, as he pondered the complexities of the universe, a knock at the ...
