Sorting

So a good deal of what -- people do -- is sort.  As far as I am able to understand, that is the entirety of what people do in England..  I guess they do have cricket, and other activities to engage with when they are not sorting, but it does seem they do quite a bit.  I suppose that does sound a bit racist, but then are the English really a " race " ?  I don't know for sure about that, and then there is the issue of " genetic " identity as well.

But generally people do a lot of sorting.  And quite some time ago, we build machines to do our sorting for us, as if  that would " really " help us.   And it may have, but whether or not it actually did help, it has become entirely a part of our lives, living with machines that sort things out.  Now, some people have suggested, that maybe we'd just be better off without those kinds of things.  It does seem to me that getting rid of them all, would be a terrific task, and I'm just not sure we would be so much better off without them.

But this is not really about them, it's really about us, because the " really " important sorting that we do, is the sorting we do as individuals , all the time, every day.  It is after all a big part of who we are.   Maybe, since we do, do it, so much, we should have some confidence, that we are actually pretty good at it.

And so, a good example of this would be, the sorting of the " hot " and " cold " .
