So, to be in that category would in fact make you quite unusual, and to be that unusual comes with its own problems, as you might readily agree. It might be different today, in a world where he might encounter other vehicles with which it might share some commonalities, like road conditions, wind shield wipers, and of course, one of more common conversations concerning brake safety or maybe even brake pads.
Of course, an intuitive ability to talk with birds and cows, and other living things, would be a plus, which in fact this particular Studebaker did have. Nevertheless, it was able to navigate the general neurosis of the 1950s about as well as any one could possibly do.
