Truth and lies

 There was, of course, a 1994 movie called True Lies, which of course is a somewhat unsettling thought.  But to get anywhere on the subject of truth and lies you need some really good examples.  

But first, sort of in general, there is an issue of how we generally deal with this issue , sort of in daily life.  Well, if I say, " the knife is on the table " , and you look on the table, and there is no knife, well, what is that.  It could very well be a lie, or something else.  It could be a problem, for example, I was once fired from a job for leaving a pot in the sink.  And so, generally in life we don't worry about the accuracy in communication all that much, because it really depends on the situation we are actually confronting.  

But, we also should know, or at least be somewhat aware, that when " lies ", become very persuasive in our societies, then the consequences do become extremely serious, as we know from a pretty clear reading in both recent history and even going back.  Generally, when lies or miscommunications become very prevalent in our societies or our world then, bad, and usually really bad stuff happens, like for example, Crimean War, WW I, WW II, and of course the list does go on, but you can see that correlation pretty clearly.  

But this is not just a game, obviously it impacts us all.   So back to examples:

So , this of course hit me quite hard when I was in college as a physics major, because, it kind of meant what I was trying to study was way harder to figure out, based on the above, which I did have some personal difficulty about denying.  But, if it was in fact " true ", then somehow, F = ma, for example, was somehow connected back to that issue.  This issue caused me a great deal of mental concern, at that time, and honestly for the entire rest of my life. Mostly.

So, we like to think our sturdy 1's and 0's will somehow protect us from this mess.  Most likely, probably no.  But back to our example, a lot has to do about what the above, actually means to you. And so, that must mean, that meaning in fact is connected to truth some how.

There are of course other examples of this , but I must simply end with an observation.  To this day, I am unaware of any hardy band of fired up math guys out there, with the object of disproving in some way the Classification Theorem, which is probably a good thing, since basically it took a couple of hundred years to prove, but in fact is only a part of undoubtedly the " incomplete " theory of groups.

So, if , or in fact, big subject, and one  which, most of our lives do  depend, most or all of the time.

Perplexity, absurdity, and power

 So, when you consider or imagine " absolute " power, you must also consider the issue of " infinite " work.  In other words, without the results or effects of power, you really don't know anything about it. Nevertheless, throughout most of human history, we have labored under this concept of " absolute " power, which in and of itself produces very difficult logical or mental conundrums.  Of course, Dr. Einstein was fairly successful in dispelling some of these odd conundrums in particularly as regards some of our notions related to the physical world and our " environment " so to speak, however, that required a life time of work, and the help of many colleagues over the years. Something, something, reality

 Now, when we reflect back on " reality ", most people will agree, >>> it's hard to do without it <<< Now, we might be able to figure out how Godel's Proof , ties back to all this stuff, but it seems to me that if you want to describe some kind of reality, then you pretty much have to talk about diversity, and so probably, possibly what you are really talking about is the " ability " to sort out, elements of diversity as being a substantive process which it kind of seems like is persistently .occurring.   This might occur through action like --->  back actions <--- of some different processes or  even ---> front action <----, which might be easier to comprehend.
