The last conversation ...

It turns out that in the last few maybe four yesrs, Dr. Z. had a series of conversations on this topic of democracy with Ralphy, and as it turns out, because there were mutliple conversations during that time, excluding, last Februrary which was about >>> celebrating <<< , and so to try and reproduce the dialog would be mostly futile, but to sum it up, it's something like this:

Human behavior really encompasses two main activities: actions and thoughts.  Generally, thoughts preceed activity but that is not always the case.  Activities that are , well guided, involve a good deal of thought, and what we often refer to as planning  and these quite often  resolve to successful conclusions.

These activities involve both collective and individual actions.  Very often,  the probelms we encounter , which might  occur in a variety of ways, on different collective levels; is, those thoughts, which develop in relation to activities, after they have concluded. It could be evaluations.  Often, these issues revolve around something we might call > " pride " <.  Sometimes, this pride is genuine and really reflects , in a good way, these accomplishments.  However, there are times, that some of these emotions become misplaced or expanded beyond what really did occur, relating to some events in the past.  You might be able to give this a name, but really , it kind of depends on the " contexts " surrounding or connected to these events.

That sums up what I know about these conversations.  Dr. Z., of course might be able to explain it better, and I am sure he would be happy to do that.  But as far as I know, that's all I know.
