Counter-inversions ? ...

Okay, back on Earth, quite a substantial planet, in it's own right, but of course quite trim and you might say agile, when compared to some of the " gas " bags you encounter out there.  But I would not like to belittle a planet, just because it's very large.

But , back to the previous post, in general, and in my opinion, missions to save the world , will often work out ,maybe , differently than you might anticipate.

Which of course, must lead me directly to the 1970's in particular the mid 70's , some might say, the " good old days ", although for me, at that time, really , not so old.

So this is about a computer program, written at that time.  It was named after Balin, son of Fundin, Lord of Moria;  a warrior from Middle-Earth, a Tolkien creation.  It is of course a pivotal element in The Fellowship of the Ring.  So,  Balin performed valiantly in Moria, and other places, and so did Balin, the computer program in the Moria of the " guts " of a computer.  But there was always this issue, which I never really had much certainty about which was, what I can think of as " counter-inversion ", which I probably can not precisely describe, which seemed to create un-expected results.  It may have had something to do with the counting process. I believed , that I had solved this problem with a " simple " subroutine, which again, I believed had dealt with what I believed to have been the issue. When ever you create a " simple " sub-routine, you might guess, there will be " issues " and "consequences ".

In the end, I'm really not sure.  But that was long ago, and far away, but not ssooo far, and in many ways not that long ago.  If you were being particularly whimsical you might say, " almost like yesterday "..  Possibly like  Yesterday , the song, you might have heard.
