More on, United States of America

With the many issues and or crisis which we might find ourselves in, the issue of a country's name does seem , somehow, not that significant, but imagine if there was some international organization that was tasked with determining how well the name of a country represented what they where all about.  Now many would obviously fly under the radar.  For example, in Europe many bordering countries or maybe non-bordering counties have come to hate each other over so many generations, that name changing of a country would almost be the same as changing languages.  Many other countries, I/m sure, would pass easily , but you get to the United States of America, well, some purely random and un-biased investigator might have a few questions, like, do you actually have some examples concerning how or why you might think your country is United ?

Well, there is the Super Bowl, and the World Series, and we are pretty united about that, and we also like to have regular, periodic elections, specially during which large numbers of people like to disagree with each other.  In addition , we all focus pretty heavily on that during the Olympics .  And the name feature prominently on many beverage containers, as well.

Well, I could see the possibility that such and un-biased and objective investigator might be swayed by logic of that type.  Yet, there does, often remain, somewhat of a doubt, that perhaps we are not as truly United as me might imagine ourselves to be.  But you can't really blame those folks from long ago, who came up with that.  I am quite confident , that at that time, it did make sense to them.
