What did the American people " actually " choose ?
Well, actually choose ? Was there a genuine choice ? Or was it mostly emotions, and narratives and stories, many of them possibly not true ? Well, one thing is for sure, it was well documented, and given the opportunity for study, will undoubtedly be a hot topic for some time. However, the result that may seem quite abstract , may not be that difficult to untangle.
So, if we break the electorate in three groups, capital, management, and labor , capital went with Trump, and apparently large parts of management and labor also went with Trump, and likely that group had it's own reasons and justifications.
At the end of the day, that may or may not make sense, but that appears to be what happened. And so you might think that, the party principally developed to fight slavery prevailed, and I would assume because, they are trying to fight slavery?

That may or may not make any sense, but you know there are an awful lot of things, we experience on a regular basis, that don't necessarily make any sense.
One thing is pretty clear. If all the Democrats join the Republican party, will the Republicans continue to be Republicans , or , will the Republicans then leave the Republican party for the Democrat party, which seems unlikely, or will they start a different party, with some other name ? Then you have questions like, if all the Democrats , except a few, become Republicans will that raise or lower the average I.Q. in the Republican party, or will it just average all out ?
