Somethings in winter...

The following is inspired in part by a story from Laura Erickson - For The Birds :

### Poem: “Whispers of Winter”

In the stillness, snowflakes fall,

A hush blankets the world, a quiet thrall.

Amidst the branches, shadows play,

A face emerges, soft and gray.

Eyes like pools of ancient lore,

Wisdom whispered from the forest floor.

In the branches, life intertwines,

As Sneakers flits where the sunlight shines.

Blue feathers flash in the winter light,

A joyful spirit, bold in flight.

While Frederick, the Night Hawk, glides with grace,

Silent sentinel, in this sacred space.

Together they dance, in a world so white,

Two souls entwined, in the fading light.

The face in the trees, a guardian near,

Watches over friendships, both brave and dear.

Through storms they weather, through trials they soar,

In the heart of the forest, they find evermore.

A bond forged in shadows, beneath the snow’s embrace,

Life’s fragile beauty, in nature’s warm grace.
