### The Anvil of Democracy pt. 1
### The Anvil of Democracy
In Athens' sun, where voices soared,
A cradle of thought, where minds explored,
Citizens gathered, their fates entwined,
On the anvil of democracy, visions aligned.
From marble columns to the Agora's call,
The seeds of a system began to sprawl,
In the heart of Greece, ideals took flight,
A flicker of freedom, igniting the night.
Then Rome arose, with its legions strong,
A republic forged, where the people belong,
Yet power ebbed, as emperors claimed,
The anvil now burdened, democracy tamed.
Through Middle Ages, shadows did creep,
Voices suppressed, as silence ran deep,
But whispers of change began to unfold,
In the hearts of the brave, a story retold.
