Here’s a poem that captures the spirit of Ken Kesey, the Merry Pranksters, and the cinematic essence of Henry Fonda and Paul Newman, all while reflecting on the themes of *Sometimes a Great Notion*.

### **Miles Back: A Journey Through Expression**

In the wild west of thought and time,

Where rivers flow and mountains climb,

Kesey rode with laughter, a joyful sound,

With Pranksters beside him, breaking new ground.

Fonda stood tall, a beacon of grace,

In struggles of heart, he found his place,

Newman, with fire in his piercing gaze,

Challenged the norm, igniting the blaze.

Together they danced on the edge of the night,

In stories of grit, they sought the light,

With every twist of fate and chance,

They carved out a world, a daring dance.

“Sometimes a great notion,” they’d whisper in song,

In the face of the tide, they’d boldly belong,

Against the current, they’d paddle and strive,

For truth and for freedom, they’d fiercely thrive.

The I Ching beckons with wisdom profound,

In hexagrams shifting, life’s lessons abound,

Like water that flows, they’d bend and they’d sway,

Embracing the journey, come what may.

So here’s to the dreamers, the rebels, the bold,

To stories that shimmer like treasures of gold,

With Kesey’s wild spirit and Fonda’s deep heart,

In the tapestry woven, we each play a part.

Let’s ride through the miles, let our minds intertwine,

In laughter and love, let our spirits align,

For in every adventure, in every bold scheme,

We find our expression, we live out the dream.
